28/01: New Toy
OK, it's Jenny's new toy, and nothing to do with photography, but:
Jenny and her piano
It didn't take too well to be dragged from York on a trailer, but a few running repairs and some serious lifting got it into the living room. It needs retuning, and one of the keys needs it's return tag replacing, but other than that it's great. I think Jenny's lining me up for piano lessons now!
A big thank you to David and Mark for their help moving (and fixing) it!

OK, I still hate Flickr, but a mate at work bought me an upgrade to a pro account, so now I'm not restrained by the free feature set, I'm going to percevere with it a bit more. 04/01: Happy New Year!
A Happy New Year to all, plus some pictures from the New Year's Eve celebrations in Cawood, courtesy of Martin.

Meanwhile, pics from the social event of the year (aka a mini school reunion) at are in the album. It's just a shame our host Jenny was ill and we didn't get to see her. (Either that or she changed her mind about hosting the event but didn't have the bottle to cancel it.)

The Register just published an interesting article entitled How the anti-copyright lobby makes big business richer, written by a photo journalist called Sion Touhig (website; blog).
As someone who keeps thinking about taking up photography professionally, it's an interesting read (as are the comments on Sion's blog entry about the story). I'm not quite sure where I sit on the matter - probably on the fence as always, as I can see both sides.
